Wordpress 2.8 codename ‘Baker’ is out! Some of the improvement in 2.8:

• Speed improvement
• Browse and install theme directly from your admin page
• Redesigned widget interface. Much more flexible now.

Basically not much huge changes, but it is still a recommended upgrade. As usual, get the latest Wordpress here.

One of the major improvement in WP  2.7 is the dashboard. It is a complete overhaul. The navigation links are moved to the left from the right.

Yay! The new version of Wordpress (2.3) support tagging! It is much easier to tag a post than to categorize them. I never use tagging in Wordpress before, so I’m not sure how it works with wordpress. Usually, visitor can filter the post by tag, which is good. It is also better for Search Engine Optimization (SOE). Will have to wait and see whether this will increase my blog traffic or not! xD

Wordpress 2.2, codename “Getz” is now available!

The major changes:

• Widget – Now integrated into Wordpress.
• Full atom support
• New blogger importer -The importer will work with the new version of Blogger.
• Infinite comment stream. I believe it is something like Google Reader.
• Plugin protection – Prevent you from activating plugin that will break your blog.
• Speed optimization
• WYSIWYG support for future version of Safari
• UI changes
• etc…

If you downloaded Wordpress 2.1.1 in the past 3-4 days, your WP maybe compromised! This is because some cracker manage to hack into Wordpress’s server and modified some of the file in Wordpress 2.1.1. Some of the files may have security exploit that added by the cracker.

It is a MUST upgrade if you installed 2.1.1. You can get the latest version of WP here.
